The “Don’t Make Me Sing a Carol” Christmas Rum Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 50ml NU ERA SPIRITS Spice as Nice Rum – because nothing says 'Merry Christmas' like a our delicious spirit with a kick of festive spice.
- 25ml cranberry juice – seasonal and makes you feel like you're doing something good for your kidneys.
- 10ml fresh lime juice – because if it’s Christmas, we need at least one bit of vitamin C.
- 15ml spiced ginger syrup – a little heat to keep things interesting (like your relatives’ questionable political takes).
- Soda water – a splash, mainly for appearances.
Garnish:
- Cinnamon stick – because we want to look like we’ve made an effort.
- Fresh cranberries or a slice of orange – optional, but if you've gone this far, may as well go all in.
Method:
- Get yourself a shaker. If you don’t have one, consider putting "cocktail shaker" on your Christmas list, because you’re clearly missing out on life.
- Pour in the Spice as Nice Rum, cranberry juice, lime juice, and spiced ginger syrup. If you don’t have spiced ginger syrup, don’t panic. You can either buy some, or just skip it and accept that you’re failing at the holidays.
- Shake it all up with ice – and try not to look like a James Bond wannabe. We’re making cocktails, not performing for MI6.
- Strain it into a glass with ice. Ideally, it’s a rocks glass, but honestly, no one’s judging. Not about this, anyway.
- Top it with a splash of soda water. Don’t go mad; it’s a cocktail, not a soft drink.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and fresh cranberries or orange slice if you’re feeling fancy.
Pro-Tip:
Make sure to take a sip before anyone asks you if you’ve done your Christmas shopping yet. Also, this is a fantastic drink for those "Hey, should we do karaoke?" moments. You’ll be warming up those vocal cords faster than you can say “Last Christmas” by Wham!
